It has been revealed that there is a familial relationship between NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang and AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su. Both influential figures in the technology industry were born in Tainan, Taiwan.
Through the research conducted by Wu Jia Jin, a senior media personality and family heritage researcher, a shared family tree was presented, indicating the close kinship between the CEOs. Previous assumptions suggested that the two were not closely related.
During a Masters of Leadership webinar, Lisa Su mentioned to CTA boss Gary Shapiro that she and Huang were "distantly related." To provide a comparison, one can think of having a child from one of their cousins. If the shared family tree is accurate, the relationship between Huang and Su is essentially based on such kinship, implying that they are indeed closely related.
It is worth noting that Jensen Huang's grandfather (who is also Su's great-grandfather) had at least 12 children, suggesting the existence of numerous cousins who have not been included in the family tree. Therefore, it was previously assumed that there was some degree of distance between Huang and Su.
Additionally, it is known that Huang's family migrated to Oregon, USA when he was four years old, and Su's family also immigrated to the US when she was three years old. Consequently, at a very young age, the family members of both CEOs were dispersed across a wide geographical area.
In summary, it has been discovered that there is a close familial relationship between Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, and Dr. Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD. This information was brought to light through the research conducted by Wu Jia Jin, highlighting a shared family tree. Although it was previously assumed that their relationship was distant, the revealed kinship indicates a close connection. Furthermore, the CEOs' families were geographically dispersed at a young age, with Huang's family migrating to Oregon and Su's family also immigrating to the US.
